Where Service Counts
Steel Service Centre has installed a second Bystronic Byspeed 3015 machine, taking the company’s investment in new technology from Bystronic to well over £2M.
With two Byspeeds in operation at SSC, cutting time for thin gauge sheet material has been significantly reduced and turnaround time has improved. The introduction of the second Byspeed has also meant more flexibility in production; the Byspeed is suited to a wide range of applications, meaning SSC can effectively meet the customer’s individual needs.

The North East branch of the company is initially a sales division supported by the manufacturing facility at SSC HQ in Staffordshire. The company plan to install machinery at the North East site as it progresses, giving the branch its own manufacturing capability. The introduction of the Northern division represents the first step in a long-term expansion project developed by the company.

How does your equipment measure up?
Steel Service Centre has purchased a LaserQC, a new and revolutionary machine
designed to get accurate measuring results, saving customers time and money.
Although
mainly applied in the metal industry, its speed and efficiency has also impressed
customers in the plastics and electronics industry.
LaserQC accurately measures the dimensions of 2D product
layouts, taking only 5% of the time taken to do it manually.
This machine has already had a positive effect on many of
our clients with satisfied customers praising its simplicity
and time-saving merits. And of
course the high quality of its inspections and results going
without saying.
Another major benefit is the ability to reverse
engineer. This process allows the operator to scan existing
2D profiles to produce a cutting file from the actual sample,
without the need for any dimensions, drawing or files.
"Improved accuracy, time saving and the ability to
scan from actual samples make all the difference to our customers.” Commented
Paul Andrews, Nightshift Manager, Steel Service Centre.
